Expedition Everest: You Control It!

The Magical's excellent Simulation Team has finished work on their Expedition Everest Simulation. Aside from a few inaccuracies, it runs very much like the actual ride and will be a blast for any fan of the ride.

Expedition Everest Update

An effects update!

-Peak Mist: Not Working

-Steam: Working

-Waterfall A: Working

-Waterfall B: Not Working

-Shadow of the Yeti: Working

-Yeti: B-Show. However, the SECOND time I rode the ride in the afternoon, a worklight was on in the caverns behind the Yeti, proof that they ARE working on the Yeti. Those lights would not be on unless someone was inside the Yeti's tech area and structure.

In addition, The Himalayan Escapes disclaimer sign is missing in both the Standby and Fastpass queues.

The Yeti footprint cast from "Destination Truth" is still nowhere to be seen.

There are also new Everest T-Shirts at the Serka Zong Bazzar!

Pictures can be seen here....

Yeti in the Shadows

Rumors going around the Internet suggest that the Yeti is currently having some kind of problem. Some are reporting that the problem involves his foundation having some kind of fracture. That can't be confirmed, but SorcerorMickey had this to say on WDW Magic:

Could we soon be seeing a new version of B-Show until December of this year?

Interesting stuff.

Yeti cast to go on display at Expedition Everest!

(Above: Josh Gates,Host and star of Destination Truth, hands the remarkable cast over to Joe Rhode, lead imagineer of Disney's Animal Kingdom, and Expedition Everest.)

Breaking news! The amazing cast found in the himalayas by Josh gates, will go on display at Expedition Everest! I can only assume that it will be placed at the Yeti Museum, but only time will tell!

Ten years of Animal Kingdom!

Yesterday was the tenth birthday of Animal Kingdom, and I have lots of pictures featured in my newsest Update, including pictures of the now-working "Snow blowing off the mountain effect". Also two videos of the effect. It looks great!

Mist on the Mountain!

Breaking news! One of my favorite effects (Which I never even got to see, since it didn't come out the way WDI wanted) has been fixed and or replaced anew! It's the misters on top of Forbidden Mountain (NOT THE ONRIDE MIST) that were to give the effect of snow blowing off the peak. WDW Magic is reporting that it's there, and have the pictures to prove it! (You must be signed in to view.)

Yeti through the ages

Cryptomundo has a great article today, about how just how the Yeti turned white in Pop culture's eyes. Most exciting for me, is this great image by Henry from his Yeti site...

As you can see, after a long time without much mention of the Yeti, he made A HUGE comeback from 2000 onwards. And he just keeps getting bigger! Be sure to check out these great stories on the Yeti through time...

I'd like to think Expedition Everest is a big part of this comeback!

(and don't forget, Destination Truth's Yeti hunt is on Sci-fi tonight at 10 PM EST!)

New feature added!

Nameste! I've added a new feature, a newsreel featuring all the latest on Everest, expeditions, mountain climbing, and of course, Yetis.

And a big thank you to Cryptozoologist Loren Coleman for stopping by! (You can see his comment below)

Just want to report that while I didn't take a camera, I did get to have three quick rides on Expedition Everest today. It was very chilly today, and there was NO line whatsoever. Sadly though, the Yeti was in B Show.

Thanks for visiting the Broken Trestle Club!

Respect the power of the Yeti

For those of you, like me, who have an interest in Cryptozoology, be sure to visit this great site about all things cryptid. Be sure to look for posts by Loren Coleman, whose books can be seen inside the Yeti Museum.

Broken at Broken Trestle

Remembered that I had some interesting photos a family member took when we both got stopped at Broken Trestle. It's an interesting look at the most interesting area of the ride!
